Posted on September 10, 2010 by

On this podcast we’re joined by local university students Todd Hunter and Maria Gasser, who are studying environmental management and social work respectively at La Trobe University’s Albury-Wodonga campus.

Todd and Maria are young, intelligent and passionate climate action advocates who are involved in a number of local grassroots initiatives.  In today’s podcast we discuss how they came to take an interest in climate change and decide to become involved in direct action.  Todd and Maria describe their recent trip to attend the PowerShift conference in Canberra, along with dozens of other young climate activists from around Australia, and share some strategies for community-building and effective climate activism.

Their stories are poweful because they are orginary young people from the local area who care about their community and who passionately believe that anyone can become a climate action hero.
